Suspended rattan fruit baskets, red threads, deconstructed sarong snake, tacking needles, cotton

Curated by Post Museum . Assisted by Tan CJ

An homage to remembering the strengths, care and support my parental units constantly provide through familiar elements surrounding my life throughout my upbringing. The fruit baskets symbolises layers of protection, imparting their lived knowledge all suspended on delicate red threads like that of the complicated family ties, blood lines, intertwining like that of a messy human-made web. This sarong cloth was used as a cradle for all my younger cousins whom my mom babysat. It was deconstructed into small pieces then pinned back together into a snake formation with tacking needles; opening the loop while ties remain loosely connected and open ended.
